I recently bought a 2016 X3 (in UK and it is a 30d M Sport N57). I updated to the Connected Booster M. I have driven 150 miles since the activation and nothing has happened. I contacted BMW and they have said I need to do an idrive reset followed by an update. For reset the instructions are car on and hold volume button for 30 seconds. 2. start vehicle engine. 3. enter Radio-mode by pressing the "start/stop" button. This will turn the engine off but leave the radio and lights on. it will also allow you to remove the key. 4. remove the key without opening the door. 5. while the key is out: Depress brake pedal AND press "Start/Stop" button again. 6. Replace the battery. If the button cell battery in the key fob of X3 is replaced incorrectly or a battery is unsuitable, it can damage the vehicle key. Only replace drained batteries with new batteries in the same voltage, size, and specification. Make sure the battery is facing in the right direction when inserting it. At the bottom passenger side (when installed in the car), there is a steel lever with a hole in it. If you can get a 90 degree or u shaped pick tool and pull on the lever, the tailgate will open. Removing the battery will give you more room to get to the lever, but I managed to remove it without removing the battery. 2. Undid transmission filter cover bolts by removing 8 8mm screws. 3. Remove 10mm hex fill plug, remove 8mm drain plug. Ended up draining 4.1 liters on a cold engine. 4. Remove about 15 T40 pan screws and remove pan while noting neck has to be pulled out carefully.
